To Wake YouAmericana
To Wake You is the new project from Mark Davis (US) and Karoline Hausted (Denmark), a musical marriage between two soul-friends, with songs of wonder at the mystery of love, written from opposite sides of the globe. The two songwriters first met twice with an interval of eight years in between and it was after their second meeting, when the stars where aligned, that songs started emerging, and at a rapid speed were exchanged back and forth across the Atlantic. Now the duo is bringing these powerful songs into the light, through recordings and live performances. Mark Davis and Karoline Hausted each have individual career paths behind them. They first toured together in 2013 and have most recently been involved with the award-winning group “Shadowlands” based in San Luis Obispo, California. To Wake You is music and lyrics written from a rare intimacy and authenticity reminiscent of artists like The Swell Season (from the movie Once), Beach House and Damien Rice.
Dan Frechette has recorded 25 solo albums and many of his songs have been covered successfully by other artists, including Canada`s The Duhks, "You Don`t See It", Australia`s The Ploughboys, "Who Will Take My Place?", and Ireland`s Dervish, "My Bride And I". These masterfully crafted songs moved a reviewer for Sing Out Magazine to declare Dan "one of the most talented singer-songwriters I`ve heard in a long time." (Mike Regenstreif, Vol. 49 #3 page 136, Fall 2005, Sing Out magazine).
Mark Stuart will spend 2018 doing what he has always done. He will tour full-time as a musical artist, bringing his years of experience to the stage. Onstage, his focus is on the songs he has penned and recorded, delivered with a soulful singing voice and highly memorable guitar playing. After many years on the Americana/Folk circuit, Stuart has cultivated a very rounded performance. His show consists of storytelling, flashy guitar "chops", and songs that seem to draw from his rock, blues, country, and folk music roots. Mostly, this artist from Tennessee has toured solo or in a notable duo with his wife ("Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart"). There were stints along the way as a sideman, though (Steve Forbert, Freddy Fender, Steve Earle, Joan Baez). If placed on the bill with a contemporary artist he is usually asked to play guitar on their portion of the show. Just ask Jason Ringenberg, Ray Wylie Hubbard, or Jimmy LaFave. One can find Mark Stuart on any given night in a small theater, coffeehouse, house concert, festival stage, club, church auditorium, etc. giving it his all. Aside from that, he could be instructing at a guitar clinic, songwriting workshop, or playing on someone`s recording session. As co-owner of Gearle Records he has produced or co-produced many albums. Stuart`s career has repeatedly taken him to all of the USA, Canada, Europe, and the United Kingdom, and, has spanned several decades.

Sugar in the GourdAmericana
"Named after a traditional foot stomping fiddle tune, Sugar in the Gourd is every bit as edgy and fun, but has the added depth of beautifully constructed original songs that encompass topics from trains, to drinking, to love, redemption, all the way to a conversation with God. The four women who comprise this delightful Americana Roots style band have combined their diverse backgrounds and songwriting talents to form a sound that is as unique as it is captivating. You’ll hear beautiful three part vocal harmonies along with fine musicianship on violin, guitar, mandolin, upright bass and banjo. Whether they’re performing an old blues, an original swing tune or an Appalachian style murder ballad, it’s all Americana... new and old at the same time, and irresistible."

Casey Frazier could sing before he could write his own name. He hit his first snare drum at the age of three, and picked up the guitar at the age of five. It became apparent very early on that the tunesmith was destined for a life of song. His precocious talent and the heavy influences of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Tom Petty, Van Morrison, and Elton John have molded him into one of the strongest young songwriters in the United States.
The artful skill of combining well-written lyrics with tried and true musical composition has given Casey opportunities to perform with the likes of Kenny Rogers and Mandy Moore. In 2009, his music was featured in the major motion picture, "Teenage Dirtbag", launching hundreds of YouTube covers of "Elysian Fields" and gaining him comparisons to Ryan Adams and Josh Rouse.
Casey has released two full length albums, an EP, a live album, and has a large archive of songs waiting to be recorded. He is always writing and recording while he divides his time between Carmel, California and Nashville, Tennessee. His music reflects the inspirations of his laidback, west coast home, and his influential country roots. Whether it is his imagination or life experiences that create the path into his heart, mind, and soul, you can be sure that when you listen to one of Casey’s albums you will be walking away with a piece of artistic expression that will easily stand the test of time.
Once upon a time, three solo artists came together to perform an original song at Open Mike Night down at Morgan’s Coffee House. The standing ovation led to an invitation for a concert, and Andrea’s Fault was born. That was nearly 2 decades ago. The group has continued to grow and change over the years. An excursion into jazz standards has afforded them a steady stream of private dates at all of the local resorts, from Pebble Beach to Post Ranch and Ventana (where they have performed for many a New Year’s Eve bash). They’ve been regulars for more than a decade at the legendary River Inn Sunday afternoon music series. Breaking away from their standard jazz trio instrumentation, on this evening Andrea, Darrin and Rick are returning to their roots. “For this special show we are trying to change things up a bit. It’s a chance to let our hair down, so to speak” says Andrea. Along with original songs from each member, this show will feature a range of musical styles from delta blues from Darrin, sultry ballads from Andrea and British-style finger-picking guitar from Rick. Andrea Carter is a singer, song-writer and multi-instrumentalist. Her CD, Love Slipped Out the Door, a collection of all-original songs, has received world-wide acclaim and can be heard on Pandora radio. Though she is known mostly as the singer and drummer with Andrea’s Fault, she has recently returned to her first love- the guitar and acoustic-based folk and blues and performs regularly at Bistro Beaujolais and Carmel’s Cypress Inn. A fan in the audience described her voice as “mellifluous” (pleasant, sweet like honey). Rick has been a regular on stages in the area for over 20 years, playing bass and singing with The Cachagua Playboys, Heartstrings, pianist Nico Georis, Keith Greeninger, The Hayboys, and on his own as a singer/guitarist, as he appears every Tuesday at Mundaka in Carmel. Rick is also a record producer, whose credits include The Pentangle’s “Open the Door” and legendary British singer/guitarist Bert Jansch’s record “Heartbreak”, which was re-issued to wide acclaim last Fall. Darrin Michell has been performing locally for 20 years with Andrea’s Fault on lead guitar and co-vocals. Known as “the human jukebox”, his repoertoire is expansive and includes Delta blues, rock, standands, folk, and jazz. Getting people up on their feet dancing is his thing.
Susan Marie ReevesAmericana
A 35 year veteran of the music business, this NYC born, CT raised and California based award winning singer/songwriter has done it all! He has self-produced SIX albums, several music videos, and a MOVIE about house concerts! The acoustic LIVE recording,“No Overdubs!” is a fan favorite. Said one reviewer: “He holds the listener captive from beginning to end. He can be a hard hitting rock god in one moment, then slide into a gentle soothing ballad with ease the next. Brilliant!” Shashona McCall, Indie-Showcase / Awesome Radio. John’s most recent record is “M-VI.” The album contains new original and previously unrecorded songs, along with an updated new recording of John’s most requested song, “My Mother In Me.” Also included are the anthemic, “I Believe In America,” and the often requested, “Memory Lane,” and “O.Y.O.” which are quickly becoming fan favorites. Audiences at live shows are already saying this is some of John’s best work to date. John’s previous CD – “Songs I Wish I’d Written” Is a collection of some of his, (and our) favorite cover songs, performed as only John M could do them. Included are songs by Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Jackson Browne, The Who, Richard Thompson, Jethro Tull, and others. Many fans have said they actually prefer John’s versions of these songs to the originals! Fans and critics agree, his SONGS, and his “straight-from-the-heart” emotion and feeling are what truly distinguishes him. Here’s what people are saying about John M: “He is first and foremost a great songwriter! Something we need to hear in today’s music!” Vernell Hackett,American Songwriter Magazine. "I`m talking music that`s bursting with heart, soul, passion and brains and guts. He brings a rocker`s passion and energy to the whole singer/songwriter thing. Try to imagine the long lost love child of Jackson Browne and Pete Townshend of The Who, and you`re almost there...” Kevin Burton-Smith, Music director – Butlers Coffee, Palmdale, CA.
On his debut album “Californicana”, native Californian singer-songwriter Frankie Bourne tells lyrical tales of wanderlust adventure along the California coast with infectious roots-rock songs that blend a unique range of influence. Equipped with an authentic indie sound that, "combines the style of new Americana with all the things you loved about 90s adult alternative bands" (TourWorthy.com), and "a smoky, quick-tongued lyrical quality that can change speeds like a Zack Greinke change-up" (San Jose Rock Music Examiner), Bourne`s first solo effort has been incredibly well-received by Indie, Rock and Americana radio stations nationwide, winning an award for best love song on the Jango Radio 2015 Valentine`s Day Playlist, who call it, "a refreshing roots rock record for the 21st Century". Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Frankie became infatuated with music at a young age, teaching himself the drums, harmonica and guitar, playing in bands and beginning to write songs at age 13. After high school he made his way down the California coast through Santa Cruz, writing songs, jamming in garages and performing at every open mic he could find before eventually moving to Los Angeles where he wrote and arranged his 13-track, acoustic-laced debut studio album, “Californicana”. The album was co-produced by Bourne and LA producer Marc Danzeisen (Riverdogs, Powerslide, Gilby Clarke), and features saxophonist Jeremy Trezona (Saint Motel), as well as guitarists Johnny Hawthorn (Johnny Hawthorn Band) and Manny Alvarez (Jackson Browne, Lucinda Williams), among others. The album just released independently under Bourne’s own Robotic Records with a successful sold out record release show at the infamous House of Blues on the Sunset Strip, and a 15-date California Tour. Frankie continues to aggressively play shows throughout the West Coast in support of the album, both solo and with his band, with a follow up record in the works and an eagerness to keep pushing his music to bigger stages. His album “Californicana” is available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, CD Baby and BandCamp, and is now featured on radio stations Sonoma Sun FM, Jango Radio, Indie Radio Music, Relax Free Radio, The Mad Music Asylum, War Stories Radio, and UK based XRP Radio.

Gary Blackburn Like most artists, music has been my passion for a very long time. As a youngster, listening to my heroes that shaped and influenced me into what I am now, I still look to have my own personal style. When you listen to my songs, my intention is that "Gary Blackburn" comes across, instead of, "Hey he sounds like whatshisname". It has been a very long journey from my early days of playing at friend`s parties and wedding ceremonies to the present. Now I feel like I can say, "I have paid my dues to sing the blues". Those few close friends who know me will understand that, and when I get up on stage you can see, feel, and hear the emotion when I perform. Okay, enough of the tortured artist. As a Singer/Songwriter I bring together my smooth vocals and stylized guitar picking to form my own unique sound in the Country, Blues, Rock genre. With such influences from James Taylor to Todd Rundgren, Hank Williams Sr. to Dwight Yoakam. Developing my own personal style to my originals, blending old school with contemporary, along with an intimate and emotional stage presence, you will no doubt connect with my musical performance. Originally from the San Joaquin Valley in central California, just north of Merle`s home and the Bakersfield Sound.I moved to Santa Cruz in the late 70`s to further my music career, I was front man for bands performing in the Monterey Bay area. Blackburn-Dadd Band, Trigger Happy,
Born in the wilds of the Seabright neighborhood of Santa Cruz, Honeytone is the soulchild of Dan Frechette, (vocals, bass) who has been searching for a band to play wonderful sing-along Motown styled songs from the 60`s, 70`s and beyond. He found Hannah Jones, a powerful and dynamic vocalist and Damien Pierce, a well rounded rhythm and lead guitarist and soon enough were joined by the fab percussionist Tom Leitzke. Their fun filled friendship shines through the music, with refreshing takes on Motown/Soul/60`s/70`s/Gospel/Blues/Rock infused music. Come sing, come dance, and we will play to your hearts desire!
Born and raised on the beach, boardwalk and streets of Coney Island in Brooklyn, NY in 1950, a variety of music was heard throughout the neighborhood which was rich with talent, from Woody Guthrie, Carole King, Neil Sedaka, Neil Diamond, The Tokens and from other local neighborhoods, the Four Seasons, Jay & The Americans, Dion & The Belmonts. Less notable were the locals, singing acapella doo-wop on the street corners, stoop, hallways, stairwells, bathrooms and any place they could find an echo. Andy started singing in a doo-wop trio in the 6th grade and picked up the sax in junior high school and began playing in rock bands. Before starting the next chapter in his life, hitch hiking across the country to the other beach boardwalk town of Santa Cruz, California in 1971, he got to experience 3 days of peace, love and music at Woodstock. The change of scene and experiences on the west coast expanded his music influencers, from Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Jerry Jeff Walker, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, George Jones, Larry Hosford, Townes van Zandt, Gram Parsons and others. In 2009 Andy started playing his eclectic mix of Americana tunes consisting of Originals, Folk, Country, Rock, Bluegrass, Rockabilly, Blues and of course some Brooklyn Doo-Wop.
